Hapag ng Pag Asa by Joey Velasco

I found this painting quite inspiring, and a shift from the usual popular religious paintings such as the Last Supper and such. In a way, this is like the last supper, only instead of the disciples, it's a painting depicting Jesus and poor filipino children.

A mentally challenged person once commented on Joey Velasco's painting, and to the artist's surprise, it was this mentally retarded person who gave such a unique comment upon asking what she saw in this painting.

She said that these children are not poor. Joey asked how can that be? And the woman answered, see, they have Jesus with them. Joey was shocked by what he had heard, and this he also knew to be true. This children were not poor, in fact, they were blessed by the presence of the Messiah.

While I'm not much into religion, at least not in the sense that I'm a self-righteous fanatic trying to convert the world to my point of view, I really appreciated this painting.

This is a painting by Salvador Dali, the greatest surrealist painter ever.

Salvador Dali's paintings are simply amazing, I'm planning to put several of them here, as well as my own thoughts about them.
